Description

Blackstone French Toast brings together the best of griddle cooking and classic breakfast comfort. With crisp edges, a fluffy center, and a warm cinnamon-vanilla flavor, it’s an easy, crowd-pleasing way to start the day.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 thick slices of bread (Texas Toast or similar)

  • 4 eggs

  • 180 ml whole milk (3/4 cup)

  • 12 g granulated sugar (1 tablespoon)

  • 10 ml vanilla extract (2 teaspoons)

  • 4.5 g ground cinnamon (1 1/2 teaspoons)

  • Butter, for greasing the griddle

Optional Toppings:

  • Whipped cream

  • Fresh berries

  • Maple syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat Griddle: Set your Blackstone griddle to medium heat (about 175°C / 350°F).

  • Make the Custard: Whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon in a shallow dish.

  • Butter the Surface: Melt butter on the griddle and spread it evenly to prevent sticking.

  • Dip the Bread: Coat each slice of bread in the custard mixture, allowing excess to drip off.

  • Grill the Toast: Place on the hot griddle and cook for about 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown.

  • Serve: Enjoy immediately with your favorite toppings or keep warm in a low oven.

Notes

Slightly stale bread is best for soaking without becoming soggy.

Avoid high heat to prevent burning before the inside cooks.

Try brioche or challah for a richer flavor.

Add a dash of nutmeg or citrus zest for variation.

Great for make-ahead breakfast—freeze and reheat as needed.
