Description
Juicy seared steak, pillowy cheese tortellini, and a silky homemade Alfredo sauce come together in this rich and comforting Italian-inspired dish. Ready in just 30 minutes, it’s hearty enough for special occasions yet simple enough for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
-
1.5 lbs beef chunks (sirloin or ribeye recommended)
-
3 tbsp butter
-
3 garlic cloves, crushed
-
1 pack (20 oz) cheese-filled tortellini (refrigerated section)
For the Alfredo Sauce:
-
2 tbsp butter
-
2 cups heavy cream
-
1.5 cups Parmesan cheese, grated
-
Salt & black pepper, to taste
Instructions
-
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook tortellini 7–9 minutes (per package). Drain, drizzle with olive oil, and set aside.
-
In a skillet over medium-high, melt 3 tbsp butter. Add garlic and sauté 30 seconds.
-
Add beef chunks in a single layer. Sear 2–3 minutes per side until browned. Season with salt and pepper. Remove and keep warm.
-
In the same skillet, melt 2 tbsp butter. Pour in heavy cream, bring to a simmer, and whisk in Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper. Simmer 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
-
Add tortellini, gently fold to coat in sauce. Simmer 1–2 minutes.
-
Plate pasta, top with seared beef, drizzle garlic butter, and garnish with parsley or Parmesan.
Notes
Ribeye gives tender, rich flavor; sirloin is leaner.
Don’t overcook tortellini; check a minute before timer ends.
Add Parmesan slowly to prevent clumping.
Enhance flavor with nutmeg in the sauce or red pepper flakes.
Save time by buying pre-cut steak chunks.
