Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/8 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F.
  2. Sift flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Mix chocolate chips and nuts together.
  4. Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla.
  5. Add dry ingredients in four batches, ending with chocolate-nut mixture.
  6. Scoop dough into balls and place on a sheet pan.
  7. Bake 8–10 minutes until edges brown and centers appear raw. Cool on rack.
  8. Freeze leftover dough for future baking.

Notes

  1. Bake from frozen if needed.
  2. Larger cookies yield a gooey center.
  3. Store baked cookies in freezer for best freshness.
