Classic chocolate chip cookies with gooey centers and crisp edges.
Ingredients

- 2 1/8 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup bittersweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cup walnuts, finely chopped
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Instructions
- Heat oven to 375°F.
- Sift flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix chocolate chips and nuts together.
- Cream butter and sugars. Add eggs one at a time. Add vanilla.
- Add dry ingredients in four batches, ending with chocolate-nut mixture.
- Scoop dough into balls and place on a sheet pan.
- Bake 8–10 minutes until edges brown and centers appear raw. Cool on rack.
- Freeze leftover dough for future baking.
Notes
- Bake from frozen if needed.
- Larger cookies yield a gooey center.
- Store baked cookies in freezer for best freshness.
