Description

This Crispy Chicken Caesar Sandwich is a bold, flavor-packed twist on the classic Caesar salad—featuring juicy breaded chicken cutlets, creamy homemade Caesar dressing, and crunchy romaine all tucked into a toasted French baguette. With a golden crust and zesty garlic-parmesan flair, it’s the ultimate comfort food for busy nights, lunchboxes, or indulgent weekends.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Caesar Dressing:

  • 1/2 cup full-fat mayonnaise

  • 3 tbsp Greek yogurt

  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard

  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

  • 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

  • 12 garlic cloves, minced

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • Pinch of sea salt

For the Chicken:

  • 5 chicken cutlets

  • Sea salt and black pepper, to taste

  • Oil for frying

Flour Mixture:

  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 3/4 tsp smoked paprika

Egg Mixture:

  • 2 eggs

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Breadcrumb Mixture:

  • 3/4 cup panko crumbs

  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs

  • 1 tsp dried parsley

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated

To Assemble:

  • 2 romaine hearts, chopped

  • 12 French baguettes

  • Extra Parmesan cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Prepare Caesar Dressing: Combine all dressing ingredients in a bowl. Set aside 4–5 tablespoons for the romaine and refrigerate both.

  2. Flatten and Season Chicken: Pound chicken if thick and season with salt and pepper.

  3. Set Up Breading Station: Mix flour in one bowl, whisk eggs in another, and combine breadcrumb ingredients in a third. Dredge chicken in flour, then eggs, then breadcrumbs.

  4. Fry Chicken: Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook each cutlet for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and crispy. Transfer to a wire rack.

  5. Assemble Sandwiches: Cut baguette into 5-inch portions. Slice open, spread Caesar dressing, layer chicken, dressed romaine, and extra Parmesan. Serve warm.

Notes

Toast baguettes for added crunch.

Air fry or bake chicken for a lighter option.

Use gluten-free flour and crumbs for a GF version.

Store components separately for freshness.

Double the Caesar dressing—it’s great on everything from veggies to wraps.
