Description

Creamy Crockpot Pumpkin Hot Chocolate combines white chocolate, real pumpkin, rich dairy, and pumpkin pie spice in an easy slow cooker drink for fall gatherings and holidays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 6 cups whole milk or 2% milk
  • 1 package (12 ounces) high-quality white chocolate chips
  • 1 can (15 ounces) pure pumpkin puree
  • 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
  • Whipped cream, for serving
  • Extra pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, or nutmeg, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, milk, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice to a 6-quart slow cooker.
  2. Whisk gently until the pumpkin blends evenly into the dairy mixture.
  3. Add the white chocolate chips and stir to distribute them.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours or on high for 1 1/2 hours.
  5. Stir every 20 to 30 minutes, scraping gently across the bottom as the chocolate melts.
  6. Whisk until the drink becomes hot, creamy, and smooth.
  7. Switch the slow cooker to warm until ready to serve.
  8. Ladle into mugs and top with whipped cream and extra pumpkin pie spice if desired.

Notes

  1. Use pure pumpkin puree rather than sweetened pumpkin pie filling.
  2. Choose high-quality white chocolate for a smoother texture.
  3. Stir frequently during the first hour so the chocolate does not stick to the bottom.
  4. Keep the finished drink on the warm setting and stir occasionally.
  5. Add a splash of warm milk if the hot chocolate becomes too thick.
  6. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
