Description
Creamy Crockpot Pumpkin Hot Chocolate combines white chocolate, real pumpkin, rich dairy, and pumpkin pie spice in an easy slow cooker drink for fall gatherings and holidays.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 6 cups whole milk or 2% milk
- 1 package (12 ounces) high-quality white chocolate chips
- 1 can (15 ounces) pure pumpkin puree
- 1 tablespoon pumpkin pie spice
- Whipped cream, for serving
- Extra pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, or nutmeg, for garnish
Instructions
- Add the sweetened condensed milk, heavy cream, milk, pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice to a 6-quart slow cooker.
- Whisk gently until the pumpkin blends evenly into the dairy mixture.
- Add the white chocolate chips and stir to distribute them.
- Cover and cook on low for 3 hours or on high for 1 1/2 hours.
- Stir every 20 to 30 minutes, scraping gently across the bottom as the chocolate melts.
- Whisk until the drink becomes hot, creamy, and smooth.
- Switch the slow cooker to warm until ready to serve.
- Ladle into mugs and top with whipped cream and extra pumpkin pie spice if desired.
Notes
- Use pure pumpkin puree rather than sweetened pumpkin pie filling.
- Choose high-quality white chocolate for a smoother texture.
- Stir frequently during the first hour so the chocolate does not stick to the bottom.
- Keep the finished drink on the warm setting and stir occasionally.
- Add a splash of warm milk if the hot chocolate becomes too thick.
- Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
