Description
Grilled pineapple is the ultimate summer dessert—quick to make, naturally sweet, and delightfully caramelized. Perfect as a standalone treat or a flavorful side dish for grilled meals.
Ingredients
-
1 ripe fresh pineapple (about 2 lbs), peeled, cored, and sliced into rings or spears
-
¼ cup (60 g) unsalted butter
-
½ cup (100 g) brown sugar
Instructions
-
Prepare the pineapple: Peel and core the pineapple, then slice into rings or spears.
-
Make the glaze: In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter. Stir in the brown sugar until smooth.
-
Preheat the grill: Heat to medium. Ensure coals are evenly distributed if using charcoal.
-
Glaze the pineapple: Brush the glaze generously over both sides of each slice.
-
Grill: Place slices on the grill. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side until grill marks appear and sugar caramelizes.
-
Serve: Remove and serve warm. Great on its own or with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Use a ripe pineapple—golden skin and sweet aroma at the base are good indicators.
Avoid overcooking to prevent mushy texture.
Add cinnamon, chili powder, or lime juice for a flavor twist.
Pairs well with meats, ice cream, or tropical drinks.
