Description
Ground Beef Philly Cheesesteak is a quick and flavorful sandwich made with seasoned ground beef, sautéed peppers and onions, and melted provolone cheese served on toasted hoagie rolls.

- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
- 1 medium green bell pepper, thinly sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced (optional)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 4 slices provolone cheese
- 4 hoagie rolls
- Olive oil for cooking
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add onions and bell peppers and sauté for 3 to 5 minutes until tender.
- Add mushrooms if using and cook for 3 more minutes.
- Push vegetables aside and add ground beef, breaking it apart and cooking until no longer pink.
- Stir in garlic powder, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper and cook for 2 minutes.
- Reduce heat to low, place provolone slices over the beef mixture, and cover until melted.
- Slice hoagie rolls lengthwise.
- Spoon beef mixture into rolls and serve hot.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the skillet to allow proper browning.
- Toast the hoagie rolls for added texture.
- Store leftover filling in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
