This KFC Coleslaw Recipe is a creamy, tangy, and sweet copycat of the fast-food classic. Made with finely chopped cabbage, carrots, and a perfectly balanced dressing, it’s the ideal side dish for BBQs, fried chicken dinners, or summer gatherings.
Ingredients

8 cups (750 g) finely chopped green cabbage

¼ cup (25 g) finely chopped carrot

2 tbsp (20 g) finely minced onion

½ cup (120 ml) mayonnaise

⅓ cup (70 g) granulated sugar

¼ cup (60 ml) whole milk

¼ cup (60 ml) buttermilk

2½ tbsp (37 ml) lemon juice

1½ tbsp (22 ml) white vinegar

½ tsp (2.5 g) salt

⅛ tsp (0.5 g) ground black pepper
Instructions

In a large bowl, combine chopped cabbage, carrot, and onion. Mix well.

In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sugar, milk, buttermilk, lemon juice, vinegar, salt, and pepper until smooth.

Pour the dressing over the cabbage mixture. Stir until everything is evenly coated.

Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.

Stir again before serving and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve chilled.
Notes
For authentic texture, use a food processor or finely chop by hand.
Fresh ingredients make the biggest flavor difference.

Adjust sugar to suit your sweetness preference.
You can use pre-shredded coleslaw mix but chop it finer for a KFC-style texture.
