Ingredients
-
1 package ramen noodles (approx. 3 oz / 85 g)
-
½ cup water (120 ml)
-
1 egg
-
1 tablespoon tamari (15 ml)
-
1 teaspoon sambal (5 ml)
-
1 clove black garlic or regular garlic, minced
-
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (5 ml)
Instructions
-
Cook the noodles: Boil a medium pot of water. Add the ramen and cook for 3–4 minutes until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water.
-
Prepare the base: In a skillet over medium-high heat, add ½ cup of water and the drained noodles.
-
Add the egg: Whisk the egg and slowly pour it into the skillet, stirring constantly to prevent scrambling.
-
Add flavor: Stir in tamari, sambal, and minced garlic. Cook for 2–3 more minutes until the egg is set and the sauce thickens slightly.
-
Garnish and serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and serve hot.
Notes
Reduce noodle cook time slightly for firmer texture.
Use black garlic for a mellow, sweet flavor.
Adjust sambal to control spice level.
Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 2 days; reheat with a splash of water.
