Description

Frozen ravioli, pasta sauce, and mozzarella create an easy baked Lazy Lasagna that feeds six with only ten minutes of preparation.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 25-ounce bag frozen cheese ravioli
  • 1 24-ounce jar pasta sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese, optional
  • Nonstick cooking spray or a little oil for the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and coat a 9-by-13-inch baking dish with nonstick spray or oil.
  2. Spread about 3/4 cup of pasta sauce evenly across the bottom of the dish.
  3. Arrange half of the frozen ravioli in a single layer over the sauce.
  4. Top the ravioli with half of the remaining sauce and half of the mozzarella.
  5. Repeat the layers with the remaining ravioli, sauce, and mozzarella.
  6. Sprinkle the Parmesan over the top, if using.
  7. Cover the dish tightly with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  8. Remove the foil and bake for about 15 minutes more, until the sauce bubbles and the cheese begins to brown.
  9. Let the casserole rest for 5 to 10 minutes before cutting and serving.

Notes

  1. Keep the ravioli frozen before assembling the casserole.
  2. Try beef, chicken, spinach, or mushroom-filled ravioli for variety.
  3. Add cooked sausage, ground beef, pepperoni, spinach, mushrooms, basil, or vegetables between the layers.
  4. Replace part of the red sauce with Alfredo sauce for a creamier variation.
  5. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to four days or freeze portions for up to two months.
