Ingredients
Scale
- 36 regular Oreo cookies
- 1 (8-ounce) package brick-style cream cheese, softened
- 16 ounces semi-sweet, milk, or white chocolate
- 1 to 2 tablespoons reserved Oreo crumbs, optional for topping
Instructions
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper and set it aside.
- Add the Oreo cookies to a blender or food processor and process until fine crumbs form.
- Transfer the Oreo crumbs to a large mixing bowl and reserve 1 to 2 tablespoons of crumbs for topping if desired.
- Add the softened brick-style cream cheese to the Oreo crumbs.
- Mix with a handheld mixer until the crumbs and cream cheese are fully combined, scraping down the bowl as needed.
- Scoop one-tablespoon portions of the mixture, roll them into balls, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Freeze the Oreo balls for at least 20 minutes, or until firm.
- Chop the chocolate and place it in a microwave-safe bowl.
- Microwave in 20- to 30-second increments, stirring well after each increment, until melted and smooth.
- Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted chocolate until fully coated.
- Lift each ball with a fork, let excess chocolate drip off, and place it back on the baking sheet.
- Sprinkle reserved Oreo crumbs on top while the chocolate is still wet.
- Refrigerate the coated Oreo balls for at least 20 minutes, or until the chocolate hardens.
- Serve cold and enjoy.
Notes
- Store Oreo Balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
- Freeze Oreo Balls in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 3 months.
- Thaw frozen Oreo Balls overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
- Use the whole Oreo cookie, including the filling.
- Use brick-style cream cheese, not cream cheese spread from a tub.
- Keep the balls chilled before dipping so they hold their shape in the melted chocolate.
