- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce, plus more for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F and prepare a baking tray with non-stick spray or parchment paper.
- Combine chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Pat chicken dry and coat both sides evenly with the spice rub.
- Bake uncovered for 20 minutes.
- Remove from oven and brush with BBQ sauce.
- Return to oven and bake 5 to 10 minutes more until internal temperature reaches 165°F for breasts or 175°F to 190°F for thighs.
- Rest for 5 minutes before serving.
