Description
Light and fluffy Disney-inspired beignets dusted with powdered sugar, just like Tiana’s famous treat.
Ingredients

- 1 cup very warm milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 2 1/2 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 large egg
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- Vegetable or peanut oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for serving
Instructions
- Whisk warm milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, and yeast; rest 5 minutes.
- Stir in remaining sugar, egg, butter, vanilla, and salt.
- Mix in flour and knead until elastic but sticky.
- Cover and rise 2 hours until doubled.
- Heat oil to 350°F.
- Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness and cut into squares.
- Fry 2–2 1/2 minutes, flipping once.
- Drain briefly and dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
- Beignets taste best fresh.
- Store leftovers up to two days.
- Reheat in oven at 350°F for 5 minutes.
