Description

Ingredients

  • 1 pound lean ground beef or lamb
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups frozen mixed vegetables
  • 2.5 pounds Russet potatoes, peeled and quartered
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Boil potatoes until tender while preheating oven to 375°F.
  2. Sauté onion in butter, then brown ground beef.
  3. Stir in seasoning, tomato paste, and flour.
  4. Add broth, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and simmer until thick.
  5. Stir in vegetables and cook briefly.
  6. Mash potatoes with warm cream, butter, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  7. Spread meat mixture in dish, top with potatoes, bake until bubbly and browned.
