Description
Slow Cooker Hot Honey Chicken Sandwiches are an easy, spicy dinner idea made in the crock pot with tender pulled chicken coated in a hot honey sauce.
Ingredients
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic salt
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup honey
1 tablespoon vinegar
¼ cup butter
buns for serving
pickles for topping
Instructions
1. Spray the bottom of a 6 quart slow cooker with non-stick spray and lay the chicken breasts in.
2. Mix cayenne pepper, paprika, and garlic salt, then sprinkle over the chicken.
3. Add brown sugar.
4. Drizzle honey over the chicken.
5. Pour in vinegar.
6. Place butter on top.
7. Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours or HIGH for 2 hours.
8. Shred chicken with two forks directly in the slow cooker.
9. Serve on soft buns with pickles.
Notes
Store leftovers covered in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reduce cayenne to 1/2 tablespoon for less heat or increase for extra spice.
Best toppings include ranch or coleslaw.
