Description

Rotel Sausage Cream Cheese Crescents are a deliciously savory and slightly spicy appetizer made with buttery crescent rolls stuffed with a creamy mixture of seasoned sausage, cream cheese, and zesty Rotel tomatoes. Perfect for parties, game day, or a quick snack, these crescents are easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (10 oz) can Rotel (diced tomatoes with green chilies), drained well
  • 2 (8 oz) cans of refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder (optional)
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven & Prepare Baking Sheet:

    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  • Cook the Sausage:

    • In a skillet over medium heat, cook the sausage until browned and fully cooked.
    • Drain excess grease and return the sausage to the skillet.
  • Prepare the Filling:

    • Add the softened cream cheese to the sausage and stir until fully melted and combined.
    • Mix in the drained Rotel tomatoes, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
    • Remove from heat and let the mixture cool slightly.
  • Assemble the Crescents:

    • Unroll the crescent dough and separate it into individual triangles.
    • Place about 1 tablespoon of the sausage mixture onto the wide end of each triangle.
    • Roll up each crescent from the wide end to the pointed end, sealing the filling inside.
    • Place them seam-side down on the baking sheet.
  • Bake the Crescents:

    • Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
    • Remove from oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Serve warm as is, or with a dipping sauce like ranch dressing or spicy mayo.

Notes

  • For extra cheesiness, add shredded cheddar or pepper jack to the filling.
  • If using hot sausage, balance the heat by using mild Rotel.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheated in the oven or air fryer.
